I saw another homeless man and a dog yesterday but didn't have the stomach to take their photo. Like any big city, Paris has its share of itinerants, in all stages of ability to care for themselves. It is heartbreaking.
Carma, this dog was in very good shape (so good, in fact, that I wondered if the 20-something fellow might be begging rather than working--but you can't tell). Its coat was thick and shiny, and it seemed to be just washed. I put a Euro (about $1.45) in the dish.
The dog was very friendly and polite. This was about noon. I don't know if the man begs all day; if he does, the dog could get very tired later in the day.
Sad sigh... Sharing.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteIt is always sad see homeless people and pets. There is a man in Geneva, that is homeless and has two cats.

Deletehe/she looks like someone has stolen their most favorite toy. Is this in Paris?
ReplyDeleteYes, Paris, in the Marais. He had a few toys with him, as a matter of fact!
DeleteWow. Great photograph...but kinda sad.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was terribly sad.
